Van Diest Medical Center’s Surgery Department provides a wide array of surgical services performed by a board certified surgeon on both an inpatient and outpatient basis. Area residents have found it to be very convenient to have procedures done right here at home rather than going to the extra time and expense of driving out of town for the same service.
We offer the following types of surgery:
General and Laparoscopic:

- Appendix removal
- Gallbladder removal
- Colon resections
- Hemorroidectomies
- Port placement
Ophthalmology:
- Cataract
Podiatry:
- Bunions
- Hammer toes
- Metatarsal
- Achilles tendon disorders
- Plantar fasciitis
- Ankle arthritis
Endoscopy:
- Gastroscopes
- Colonoscopies
- Flexible sigmoidoscopes
Our surgery team has many years of combined experience and are proudly CNOR certified. This designation represents a commitment to nursing excellence and outstanding patient care of nursing best practices. The surgical team at VDMC also proudly received the AORN Go Clear Award ensuring the department has sufficient smoke evacuators and accessories.
The Surgery Department hours are 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
