VDMC Named Three-Time MAP Award Winner!

6/27/2023 |  Van Diest Medical Center (VDMC) was named as a recipient of the 2023 MAP Award for High Performance in Revenue Cycle, sponsored by the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) for the third year in a row! This is an outstanding achievement!

As a national award winner, VDMC has met industry-standard revenue cycle benchmarks, implemented the patient-centered recommendations and best practices embodied in HFMA’s Healthcare Dollars & Sense® initiatives, and achieved outstanding patient satisfaction. VDMC was one of only two Critical Access Hospitals nationwide to receive this year’s award AND we were the top winner in our category!!

HFMA’s MAP initiative sets the standard for revenue cycle excellence in the healthcare industry.  MAP is a comprehensive strategy that allows organizations to measure revenue cycle performance using the industry-standard MAP Keys; apply evidence-based strategies for improvement and perform to the highest standards to improve financial results and patient satisfaction.

Top 100 Critical Access Hospital by The Chartis Center for Rural Health

03/01/2023 | Van Diest Medical Center has been recognized as a 2023 Top 100 Critical Access Hospital. Compiled by The Chartis Center for Rural Health, this annual recognition program honors outstanding performance among the nation’s rural hospitals based on the results of the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX™.

“Across the nation, top 100 rural providers continue to serve as a source of inspiration for hospital leadership teams and staff working diligently every day to improve the delivery of care within their local communities,” said Michael Topchik, National Leader, the Chartis Center for Rural Health. “The list of award winners in each category is as geographically diverse as we’ve seen in some time, which is wonderful to see. Van Diest Medical Center Receives Performance Leadership Award for Outcomes from Chartis Center for Rural Health

11/17/2022 | As part of the National Rural Health Day celebration, Van Diest Medical Center announced today it has been recognized with a 2022 Performance Leadership Award for excellence in Outcomes. Compiled by The Chartis Center for Rural Health, the Performance Leadership Awards honor top quartile performance (e.g., 75th percentile or above) among rural hospitals in Quality, Outcomes and Patient Perspective.

Digital Health Most Wired Achievement

12/22/2022 | We are very proud to announce that Van Diest Medical Center achieved a Level 7 in the Acute and Ambulatory categories for the 2022 Digital Health Most Wired Survey!

Among the more than 38,000 organizations surveyed by The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME), we ranked above our peers in categories such as analytics and data management, population health, infrastructure, and patient engagement. The survey assesses the adoption, integration and impact of technologies in health care organizations at all stages of development, from early development to industry leading.

Organizations in Levels 7 and 8 meet the criteria for being designated as Most Wired. These organizations have deployed technologies and strategies to help them analyze their data and achieve meaningful clinical and efficiency outcomes.  

The Digital Health Most Wired survey and recognition program serves as a comprehensive “Digital Health Check-up” for healthcare organizations across the world.  As success in digital health increasingly determines the quality of patient care, the scope of the CHIME Digital Health Most Wired survey reflects the progress of leading healthcare providers as they reinvent healthcare for a new century.
