WEBSTER CITY, IA │ | Van Diest Medical Center (VDMC) is pleased to welcome Cardiologist Kasaiah Makam, MD, FAAC, with MercyOne-Iowa Heart.  

Dr. Makam is board certified in interventional cardiology, cardiovascular disease and nuclear cardiology. He received his medical degree from Zaporozhye State Medical University on Zaporozhye, Ukraine. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Las Vegas in 2013 and served as Chief Medical Resident from 2013-2014. He was a Cardiovascular Diseases Fellow for Christiana Care Health Systems in Delaware and later Dr. Makam was an Interventional Cardiology Fellow at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in New Jersey.  

He has worked as an Interventional Cardiologist for Cardiology Associates of  

Altoona. He currently sees patients at Iowa Heart Center in Fort Dodge.  

Dr. Makam will see patients in the Cardiology Clinic at Van Diest Medical Center beginning April 11, 2024. He is replacing Dr. Sehgal whose last day is March 14. The Cardiology Clinic will continue to be held on the second and fourth Thursdays each month, and Alexandria Doyle, ARNP, will continue to see patients at VDMC.
