"Healthcare access is a lifeline for rural communities like Webster City, but the ripple effect it creates in overall community development is significantly greater. Van Diest Medical Center not only ensures the well-being of residents, but also drives economic growth, attracts new businesses, enhances the overall quality of life, and strengthens all community development initiatives, " said Anna Woodward, Executive Director of the Webster City Area Chamber of Commerce.

“While providing exceptional health care solutions, Van Diest Medical Center has created a positive economic impact on all of Hamilton County by offering meaningful employment opportunities,” Rick Young, Hamilton County Supervisor, said. “That combination helps Hamilton County to be a great place to live and work.”

“Iowa’s hospitals and health systems implemented the programs and services accounted for in this study in response to their communities’ needs,” IHA President and CEO Chris Mitchell said. “Many of these programs and services wouldn’t exist without hospital support and leadership. With IHA’s advocacy, these efforts help ensure the financial stability of hospitals, making it possible for them to provide the services and programs most needed by the people they serve.”
