AmbulanceThe Emergency Medical Services Department at Van Diest Medical Center is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week with physicians and advanced level practitioners who are well-trained to treat your emergency needs.

The Emergency Department proudly implemented Avera eCARE in 2018. Avera eEmergency offers a fast response and quick specialty intervention, providing as much or as little help as needed via telehealth technology to help our patients achieve better outcomes and avoid unnecessary transfers. Through secure, interactive, video and audio equipment and software, our team can access board certified emergency physicians and critical care nurses by the push of a button. This gives the Emergency Department team a second set of ears and eyes from specially trained emergency medicine physicians who collaborate with our local team in emergency situations.

The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Team also provides Advanced Life Support for Webster City and surrounding areas with Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians. Along with responding to emergencies, EMS also transfer ill and injured patients to higher level care facilities, provide support staff for the emergency department, support local and area first aid and EMS training efforts, help educate preventive lifestyles for safer and healthier lives and work with local and area fire and law enforcement agencies during emergency calls.

The Emergency Medical Services Department is licensed with the Iowa Department of Health and the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services as a Paramedic Level Service.

If you have an emergency and need ambulance transport to the hospital, please call 911.
